Accreditation

The West Island HSSC has finally received a response from Accreditation Canada. After having analyzed the informations that were sent in by the HSSC in October, it was confirmed that, on 2,295 evaluated criteria, there are now only 14 criteria that must be followed up on from now until the month of May.

Performance of hospitals

The Projet de production de rapports sur les hôpitaux canadiens (PPRHC) contains clinical and financial data on over 600 short-term care facilities. The results of the project help participating establishments by allowing them to compare their performance with those of their similar group and with hospitals in Montreal, Quebec and Canada. Quebec received glowing results, when compared to the whole of Canada, and the West Island HSSC earned above average scores on most indicators. It performed especially well in the readmissions category, in terms of cost per weighted case and total hours worked per weighted case. On the other hand, it must work harder in terms of vaginal birthrates.

Satisfaction of the West Island clientele

Between 2009 and 2011, l'Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de Montréal conducted a survey on the satisfaction of Montreal users. Good news: West Island users are generally more satisfied of services than in the rest of Montreal! For information, read the overview of the survey's results (in French).
